Mini-Interview: Yong Gary of Elf Logic team

March 26, 2003 4:25 PM PST

I wanted to check in with Yong Gary regarding his Elf Logic game for GP32, which is one of the nicest looking homebrew projects to come along for some time now. They're a very talented group, if extremely young. So I sent him a short email. Here's what he had to say:

Basic info: the team consists of Rada (programming), Byolbagy (graphics), and Yong Gary (QC). Current version: 0.9

Will you make an english manual soon? People are confused!

Byolbagy tells me he can make it. But we haven't seen a response yet.
(If he forgets to do it, I'll take care of it. But it's not easy for me...)

What inspired you to make this game?

Honestly, "Elf logic"'s system is not my work. I just do difficulty control. Original is by Rada's senior.
(I don't know what original is.)

Any plans to sell a more complete version on MegaGP?

Sell? This? Are you kidding me?
I think it's not high enough quality for commercial goods.
(and we've got a problem with sound. it's big flaw.)

Is Byolbagy a professional artist? I can't find a website for his art, but it's very very good.

He is a high school student. Maybe a sophomore I think...

(Editor's note: high school? look at his art! This is the guy who made GP Story too.)

Is there a website for your team? Any GP32 plans after Elf Logic?

Not yet. Byolbagy said to me he do it. But we don't have time.

What will be included in the full version that is not in the beta?

If we can make a "real final version", you can select difficulty, there will be a clearer screen, some documentation (no plan for english...who can do it?) and bgm. But......I don't know how's going.

Anything else you want us to know?

I'm working to get a 4th man....If we have another member, things will go much faster. pray for me!

Either that or...give you his email address (remember to remove NOSPAM).

Thanks to Yong Gary for his friendly supply of info. I hope to hear more from them in the future!

brandon sheffield still can't believe Byolbagy is in highschool. This means he's got to be...fifteen?
(ok - it seems he's sixteen. still very impressive.)
